The Retirement Ceremony for our esteemed professor, Prof. Dr. Nedim İpek, who served for many years at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, was held on November 6, 2025, at the Fevzi Köksal Conference Hall of our faculty. The program was attended by OMÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Vedat Keleş, Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Erkan Yalçın, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Muharrem Özcan, Dean of the Çarşamba Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. İbrahim Serbestoğlu, Director of Samsun Vocational School Prof. Dr. Kaya Tuncer Çağlayan, and numerous academic and administrative staff and students from various faculties of the university.
At the end of the program, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Prof. Dr. Nedim İpek by OMÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Vedat Keleş. A book titled “A Lifetime in the Chair of History: A Tribute to Prof. Dr. Nedim İpek,” prepared by his fellow academics and students whom he personally contributed to the education of, was presented to him.
Prof. Dr. Nedim İpek's Farewell Dinner was held on the same date with the participation of many academics. The work Korgan, to which our professor contributed with his last article, was presented to him.
We wish our esteemed professor, Prof. Dr. Nedim İpek, a healthy, peaceful, and happy life with his loved ones in the future.
