The Master's program in the Department of History, established by University Senate Decision No. 92/12 dated January 2, 1992, has been offering graduate education since the 1999-2000 academic year. Master's studies are conducted in the fields of General Turkish History, Ancient History, Medieval History, Modern History, Contemporary History, and History of the Republic of Turkey. Admission to the Master's program, which is based on the ALES exam administered by ÖSYM and the student's grade point average, generally takes place at the beginning of each semester. The number of places available and other information are announced on the Graduate Education Institute website. Student admissions are based on different quotas for internal and external applicants. The program consists of a course period equivalent to 24 credits, followed by a thesis process supervised by an academic advisor. Students who successfully complete their thesis work graduate as specialists in the field of History.
